House Painting

Morning all - well the fun began yesterday painting the new house. Not an easy job in 35 degree heat in a house where the power had been disconnected so no aircon or fans. Never mind we are lucky to be given this opportunity to have early access so we are making the most of it. As you can see the walls are dark, multi-coloured blues and browns not to mention the matching awful blue carpet. We plan to paint the whole house white of course and I also started removing all the timber venetians blinds which where right through the house. Have some lovely curtains in store for this large room.
The cutting in take literally hours.

The Packing Begins

Our new house doesn't settle for about 3 weeks but because the property is empty the lovely vendor has been kind enough to give us early access. So we are busy packing and hoping to start painting over the weekend. This is going to make things a lot easier as we can do quite a few trips with lots of the small and breakable stuff in the meantime. Oh its all sinking in now best get back to it.

Summer Styling

I have been looking at lots of inspiration images these last few weeks imagining how the new house is going to be decorated. I am loving the neutral upholstery teamed with lots of white and combining modern & vintage. I have some pieces that have been stored in the shed that have been waiting for a new home. Cannot wait to see them all under the one roof and not having to move again for many years to come.

Rare Find Part II

Well turned out the horse had been missing for some 24 hours and was wondering along the roadside before it came to my house. Two local cowboys came around on their horses last night and said they had found the paddock to where he belonged. Apparently the owner is overseas and had left the horse with a local business lady to feed. Obviously the fencing must of been inadequate which is worrying as this horse would have been worth a penny or two. Oh well the kids got their thrills for a few hours and its safely home where it belongs I hope.

A Rare Weekend Find

This is a weekend find that I am sure I will never come across again. A beautiful black thoroughbred landed in my front yard at 8.30am this morning and lucky for us we had a fenced paddock to keep this beauty in. No-one has come looking for him and my daughter is convinced all her dreams have come true.

Fabric & Chair Obsession

Are you like me and day dream about your next furniture or household project.. I just adore these chairs with their Laura Ahsley and Warwick design fabrics. Makes me want to go out and have a new chair or couch upholstered in these gorgeous colours. Have a wonderful weekend mine will be busy with dropping the kids off at Wet N Wild Water Park, then I am hoping to pick up some new cushions that I have arranged to be made. I am also thinking about doing a car boot sale on the weekend as I have a few things I would like to clean out before the move. Have a good one. Sandy x
